I've also got the Comprehensive Russian Grammar and, like you, I found it somewhat dry. I found Schaum's to be easier to get on with but, like the other book, it really is more of a reference book for additional study rather than a primary book to learn Russian from scratch. This book is an excellent reference for Russian grammar due to it's short and concise form. Clear examples are included with most topics which also add value. The only thing this book is lacking is an index (but it does have a table of contents).Cited by: 6.
